Favorite 2016 Moments

Thursday, March 2, 2017

I'm not the type to make resolutions or set any 'goals' for the New Year, because I never keep on with it and eventually they are become useless. I did have really great memories in 2016, and accomplished so much in 2016, so let's take a through at 2016 through my 4500+ iPhone pictures!

Be warned friends, this is will be a picture heavy post.

December 31, 2016 - January 1, 2017. The day was just packed with events and I loved every single minute of it (expensive the pricey dinner bill hehehee). It started off with visiting the Ice Castle, last year was the first year that it opened, and surprise we went again this year! Followed by a upscale dinner at Solstice Seasonal Cuisine located at 124 Street in downtown. Then we went to walk around the legislature to see all of the lights and decorations, followed by fireworks at Churchill square. The next day we had New Years brunch at the Harvest Room at the Fairmont MacDonald.

Side note: I need this hair back in my life.

Favorite song

The Fire and the Flood Tour was also in January, I really really like Vance Joy, if I had to pick one song from him it would be Straight into Your Arms, that song is my jam. Wasted Time & Fire and the Flood are close seconds. The atmosphere of the concert was great and we were sitting within the first 5 rows, it was a great experience. And I think out of all of the concerts I've been to, this still remains as my favorite.

Weekend Recap

Outfit details at the end. Pssst this jacket is life.

Whooo, can't believe its 2017 already, this year I will try to have at least one new blog post up every week. WOW AIN'T THAT EXCITING? ahaha no.one.cares.

Anyways here's an outfit I wore for errands when the weather was still nice. As you can see we started the day with grocery shopping at T&T, mainly because of 2 things: face masks and asian snacks. Those 2 are probably the only reasons why I love T&T so much. Side note, I should make a face mask post, because I am a pro in asian skincare (AB) products, or I would like to think that I am a pro.

Followed up brunch, because ya girl love her eggs bennys and brunchy things. We went to Cafe Bicyclette, I have had coffee and dessert from here but never had brunch. Since the weather was nice, it would be a waste to stay inside. On a Sunday, it was quiet busy because there was also an event nearby, we had to look around and rush whenever an empty table opened up (it's self sitting, so don't call me a savage aha).

FIT: blushing

I am loving this YSL scarf, I try to stay away from pink because pink ain't mah thang. However when I saw this scarf, I immediately fell in love with the colour, it is a subtle nude pink. And since I wear so much black, it would be an excellent pop of colour. Because you know, having colours in your outfit is a thang as well.

I received this scarf as a christmas gift (*cough*, I picked it out) at Saks Off Fifth, so it was very affordable. The scarf also came in a variety of other colours, like I mentioned previously this one caught my eye instantly, the one I received is Opal Grey (yeah it's a grey according to YSL).

I wore this outfit on the weekend to watch Doctor Strange, aka I just wanted to be comfortable. However I am strongly against going out looking like a slob (YOU'LL NEVER CATCH ME WEARING SWEATPANTS OR HOODIES), so this is my version of comfortable.

Odaiba

Tuesday, November 15, 2016

Guess which city the first travel post is going to be about?

It's Tokyo! In the end, I think Tokyo was definitely one of my favorite cities. It's hard to pick, because I sincerely liked all the cities I went to. We spend 7 days in Tokyo, each day we tried to explore a different region within Tokyo, and on the second last day, we went to Odaiba. We caught the sunset at Odaiba and it was beautiful (and it kinda sorta reminded me of a Mario Kart map?).

Panorama picture taken on my iPhone, when we started to walk around the boardwalk, the sun was starting to set.

FIT: Monochromatic Casual

Monday, November 7, 2016

Hello, from the other side.
It's been a while since my last blog post, sorry you know how life can be sometimes - annoying.

We went to Sumo Sumo for AYCE sushi on Sunday and followed up with going to the Rec Room. I don't wear hoodies or sweatpants out, not even on weekends. If you see me wearing them, you would know that my life is failing apart. This is a quick outfit I put together for Sunday, it is casual and comfy, definitely my type of weekend outfit.

FIT: Summer Denim & Ice Cream

Thursday, October 20, 2016

I didn't buy a lot of clothes while I was travelling Asia this summer, because ya girl over packed and brought too much clothes on the trip. Typical. Yes very typical, because I'm a notorious pack rat.

Out of the few pieces I picked up, this denim skirt is probably my favorite! I visited my relatives and my aunt actually bought this for me. Thanks auntie (who doesn't even though this blog exists) :)
It is my favorite because of the asymmetrical hemline, it is definitely unique and I have not seen any pieces that are similar (score, not basic). It always makes my legs look nice, so that's always an added bonus.

I also tried Scoop n Roll, which was very much hyped about where I live. It is a mobile creamery and you can pick your base and whatever topping you want and they make it in front of you! I've seen this in other cities too, it seemed like a cool idea, so we ventured to try it out!

I picked mango cream base with blueberry and strawberry toppings to be mixed in. And in the end you get 4 ice cream rolls (pictured above). It costs $7, and the wait was a whopping 45 minutes. Yep, it is very much hyped and popular. Thank god there was a furniture store near by, because I can not justify paying $7 and waiting 45 minutes for ice cream.

The wait ended up being an hour or so, and I was expecting some heavenly-divine-blessed-holy ice cream. But meh, it kinda fell flat. It was just okay and it wasn't anything special. All I can say is meh.

FIT : Fall Black

Wednesday, October 19, 2016

Another day, another black outfit. What else is new?

In case you haven't noticed, I tend to wear black a lot. Simply because it is easy to style and it matches with everything. Magical.

This weekend we went shopping at Simons annnnnnd being a newbie blogger (??? can I call myself that now), the photos are potato quality featuring a creepy mannequin. But it's okay, it's all apart of the learning process right?? Right..

Anyways, this weekend I got ready in a hurry. When I'm rushed I tend to go for an all black outfits with a few accent pieces. The leather jacket gives the outfit some texture, while the red neck tie gives the outfit the much needed pop of colour.
