FIT: Summer Denim & Ice Cream

Thursday, October 20, 2016

I didn't buy a lot of clothes while I was travelling Asia this summer, because ya girl over packed and brought too much clothes on the trip. Typical. Yes very typical, because I'm a notorious pack rat.

Out of the few pieces I picked up, this denim skirt is probably my favorite! I visited my relatives and my aunt actually bought this for me. Thanks auntie (who doesn't even though this blog exists) :)
It is my favorite because of the asymmetrical hemline, it is definitely unique and I have not seen any pieces that are similar (score, not basic). It always makes my legs look nice, so that's always an added bonus.

I also tried Scoop n Roll, which was very much hyped about where I live. It is a mobile creamery and you can pick your base and whatever topping you want and they make it in front of you! I've seen this in other cities too, it seemed like a cool idea, so we ventured to try it out!

I picked mango cream base with blueberry and strawberry toppings to be mixed in. And in the end you get 4 ice cream rolls (pictured above). It costs $7, and the wait was a whopping 45 minutes. Yep, it is very much hyped and popular. Thank god there was a furniture store near by, because I can not justify paying $7 and waiting 45 minutes for ice cream.

The wait ended up being an hour or so, and I was expecting some heavenly-divine-blessed-holy ice cream. But meh, it kinda fell flat. It was just okay and it wasn't anything special. All I can say is meh.

Travel : Great Wall

First travel post is finally up... yayyyy 👏. For this trip, I only brought my iPhone 5s and a Canon PowerShot with me. I did not bring DSLRs or anything fancy because it would be a hassle for me to carry them around because we would be out exploring (and shopping) all day.

FIT : Fall Black

Wednesday, October 19, 2016

Another day, another black outfit. What else is new?

In case you haven't noticed, I tend to wear black a lot. Simply because it is easy to style and it matches with everything. Magical.

This weekend we went shopping at Simons annnnnnd being a newbie blogger (??? can I call myself that now), the photos are potato quality featuring a creepy mannequin. But it's okay, it's all apart of the learning process right?? Right..

Anyways, this weekend I got ready in a hurry. When I'm rushed I tend to go for an all black outfits with a few accent pieces. The leather jacket gives the outfit some texture, while the red neck tie gives the outfit the much needed pop of colour.

FIT : Remembering Summer

Wednesday, October 5, 2016

Fall came quickly this year, I mean it snowed and I'm already wearing gloves on my commute to work... yeah. Only if summer lasted longer and resembled the picture above, someone please sponsor me to go to LA??? Please?

Summer is definitely my favorite time of the year, unfortunately it just does not last long in Edmonton :(. Remembering Summer will be my tribute to summer, because I love summer but summer doesn't love me.

Outfit: details at the end.

Fall Inspo & Mood Board

Tuesday, October 4, 2016

Fall is quickly approaching, and at around this time every year I do a closet clean up and switch my fall pieces over. Along the process, I get motivated and feel a little inspirational.

Here's my fashion mood board for fall:

FIT : Thanksgiving

Monday, October 3, 2016

Happy Thanksgiving.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving weekend. I had a relaxing long weekend, which is always much needed for me, because I'm lazy and I take advantage whenever I don't have to leave my bed. Except on Sunday, where I had to try to look decent for a Thanksgiving dinner.

Here's my attempt at looking decent, outfit details will be listed at the end!

Travels: Calgary

Sunday, October 2, 2016

I love taking a weekend trip to Calgary, simply because I get excited about food & shopping. But more so on the food aspect (typical).

Calgary has better restaurants compared to Edmonton, and also offers more variety as well. Before heading to Calgary, I always search for new restaurants to try, because better prepared than being hungry aha.

Vendome Cafe
940 2 Ave NW, Calgary, AB T2N 0E6

Top: duck confit
Bottom: croque monsieur

Vendome Cafe is in Kensington, and I've heard positive reviews before coming down to Calgary. So I made sure we would stop here. The cafe it self was surprisingly bigger than what I was expecting, and when we were there it was packed! We ordered a Duck Confit sandwich and Croque Monsieur, while they were both delicious, the Duck Confit was amazing. We contemplated on ordering another before leaving, but decided to save room for more food later. I would definitely recommend Vendome Cafe for anyone going down to Calgary.

Summer Sixteen Travels

I never had the chance to travel much, but I always dreamed of travelling the world (like every other person). I think because it is hard for me to adapt to new environments, travelling just intimated me.

However, this summer my friend and I left for a month long trip in Asia. We went to China (Beijing, Xi'an, Shanghai) as apart of an international study tour hosted by our business school. Then we ventured off to Hong Kong and Tokyo for two weeks. Needless to say it was my first time travelling overseas and for an extended period of time, I was nervous but I fell in love with travelling.

Stay tuned with blog posts with picture!

❀ with love, Kelly
